The
Maze

Introduction

This little building is dressed in living wicker. Crowned with a statue de Vénus, a nymph carrying a child Bacchus stands at the top of a cedar trunk. A bower dotted with vases planted with boxwood and ivy surrounds the ensemble, and reveals to the East the monumental Caryatids of Jean Goujon.

These Caryatids, Pallas and Cybele, and the Atlantids, Hercules and Apollo, originally adorned the façade of the château, and have been assembled at the rear of the maze.
